At first sight, the TRACKFLEX FLOODLIGHT WIFI doesn’t look all that different from other spotlight-type security cameras. But looks can be deceiving because there’s a dual-lens design featuring a 360 degree horizontal coverage — good for avoiding dead zone driveways or large yards. An auto-zoom brings in closeups clearly — the 4K high-resolution lens aided by the 6X hybrid lens — displayed together on a single screen using the Reolink app.
Another unique feature is the out-of-view detection. It uses an array of infrared sensors to detect motion at distances within a 270 degree zone. Additionally, there’s local AI Video search (no required subscription) and storage solutions include a micro-SD card or using a WiFi hub.
No worries about night vision because of the spotlight whose capability gets 3000 lumens, which is really bright. And if the light isn’t enough watch (make that listen) to the 1100 decibel siren. That light can be color temperature modulated, done at the user’s request or handled automatically.
Now here’s the kicker. Most are used to these security cameras working off of a rechargeable battery (or using a solar panel). That works fine when all that is being powered is the camera, WiFi, etc. But add powerful lighting that comes from this camera, and you couldn’t have a battery big enough to do the job. So that means that this Reolink has to be tied into the house’s electrical system or plugged into an electrical outlet. As to the second, it’s doubtful that an outlet is found conveniently where it needs to be placed — besides making it obvious to an intruder that it could be unplugged. So having an electrician come in and physically create a non-accessible outlet or enter into the house to plug into is needed. While that isn’t a total non-starter, it does require some planning on the part of the homeowner. So with that in mind Reolink includes a long power cord to use. The DURACELL TRI-POWER RECHARGEABLE LANTERN
The DURACELL TRI-POWER RECHARGEABLE is a lantern, but that’s the short end of the stick for what it is and does. Really good sized, and designed sensibly and conventional, it possesses the ability to to do a lot more than just illuminate. Let’s talk power: it has a rechargeable battery inside that charges up from solar power —which is why there’s that solar cell on the top. Should you prefer, stick in a set of “D” batteries (remember them) or send in a charge to the USB input — either way you’ve the power to light up 3000 lumens of light (that’s what the rubber switch on the front turns on). Now below the light switch is a rubber pad protecting that USB power input, but there’s also an output for charging other mobile devices.
